Former Buhari’s aide Lauretta Onochie asks DSS to arrest Peter Obi for allegedly

  Former Special Assistant on New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, has called on the Department of State Services (DSS), to arrest the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, for allegedly instigating violence in the country. Onochie‘s call for Obi’s arrest came as a reaction to an old pre-election video posted by one Abubakar Sidiq Usman where Obi had called on his supporters to take the country back. According to her, Obi was trying to provoke violence in the country using his supporters popularly called ‘Obidients’ following his defeat in the 2023 presidential election. In the post, the former presidential aide said Obi’s posture has been that of desperation for someone who finished third in the poll. Drama as two Rectors resume duty at polytechnic in Osun NEWSBREAKING NEWSEDUCATION

  There was mild drama on Thursday at the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, as two Rectors resumed duty on the institution’s campus. Recall that the institution had been in crisis recently following the suspension of the Rector, Dr Tajudeen Odetayo on July 11, 2023, by the state government on allegation of fund misappropriation and appointing Mr Kehinde Alabi in an acting capacity. However, Odetayo through his counsel, Rasheed Adeniyi, on August 21, 2023, approached the Industrial Court with an order of interim injunction restraining the defendants/respondents, their servants, privies, employees or howsoever described from giving effects to the letter of suspension dated 11th July, 2023 and letter of querry dated 1st August, 2023 given to the claimant/applicant herein or in any way interfering with the claimant/applicant’s position as the Rector of Osun State Polytechnic, pending the hearing and determination of motion on notice for interlocutory injunction before this court. Akpabio and other senators insist on not cutting down their expenses, say they’re not cause of hardship in Nigeria NEWSPOLITICS

The 10th Senate under the leadership of Godswill Akpabio has rejected calls to cut down on its expenses, despite the economic hardship occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy. speaking to journalists in Ilorin, Kwara state, on Monday, September 4, 2023. According to him, the National Assembly is not responsible for any economic hardship experienced in Nigeria. He pointed out that lawmakers play many important roles, including committee work and oversight, without any allowances attached.
